Our potatoes’ journey
Before you serve potatoes, they have already travelled a long way. And you can take that literally. From the farmer who grows and harvests them, to the conveyor belts that wash them, to our state-of-the-art packaging machines.

In the Waasland region, everybody knows “The Remo”. The farmers we work with. The customers who trust us. The employees who stick with us.

Our name derives from the Van Remoortel family. Jozef founded the company in 1989 together with his wife, Frieda Apers. Their daughters An and Els later took over the business, together with Els’s husband, Wim Lannoey.

We love potatoes, but we care most about our people. In our team, we enjoy what we do, and constantly challenge each other to improve. Does that sound like you?

In the late 1980s, Jozef Van Remoortel and Frieda Apers realised that the farming profession needed to modernise. They laid the foundations for the modern potato processor that Remo is today.

At Remo, we promise the very best potatoes. What that means—and how we deliver on that promise—is explained below.

Before you serve potatoes, they have already travelled a long way. And you can take that literally. From the farmer who grows and harvests them, to the conveyor belts that wash them, to our state-of-the-art packaging machines.

We care about more than just potatoes. We know our farmers. We want the best for our employees, our suppliers, and the environment. We understand what our customers want. That’s how we deliver the best potatoes.
